Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College Profile

The QuFu Fareast Vocational and Technological College was founded by the renowned educator and entrepreneur Dr. Wang Naichang of Taiwan in 1998, and was authorized by the Ministry of Education in China. The college has been approved to enroll students via the national program of unified college student recruitment ever since.

The school is located at QuFu Shimenshan National Park, which is in the northern part of Confuciuss birthplace, the city of QuFu in Shandong Province. This area contains beautiful scenery, forestry, historic buildings and modern structures. The enchanting campus creates an unrivalled learning and research environment for students. It occupies 400 Chinese acres at the present time, with floor space of 100,000 square meters, including well-equipped classrooms, a library with 130,000 volumes of books and periodicals, and dormitories for students, teachers and foreign experts. There is also an auditorium where activities are often held to accommodate student needs. For the convenience of our school members, two modern cafeterias have been built on the east and west ends of our campus to provide meals to all teachers, workers and thousands of students. The school currently has 5 departments: Foreign Language, Computers, Business Administration, Electronics, and Art. There is unitary infrastructure, services and facilities to support our 17 majors, such as Laboratories, Microcomputer Rooms, Multimedia Classrooms and Language Labs, etc.

The Jining Far East High-Tech Materials Co., Shandong Far East Semi-conductor Co., Far East-Liang Fei muffler and convertor Co., and the QuFu Far East Aluminum Co. were all established by our founder Dr. Wang Naichang as well. These companies have served as our students training bases.

The renowned scholar and the educator Xu Baoqing and professor Wu Jin have presided over the college for many years. Academic diplomas are awarded to Three-Year and Five-Year program students after completing their undergraduate courses. There are currently about 3,000 enrolled students and 170 members in our teaching staff, including 45 professors and associate professors with advanced degrees. Many faculty members are recruited internationally from the United States of America, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. In addition, we have hosted hundreds of professors, associate professors and instructors from top domestic universities. Thirty percent of our faculty members are multi-disciplined teachers, holding two or more titles (such as a CPA and a Statistician).

The main goal of the school is to develop sophisticated and talented individuals through qualified management, prestigious faculty, and modern equipment and facilities. We insist that our entire faculty and staff focus on and adhere to the goal of the school, so that our students may be educated to be proficient in foreign languages and trained vocationally to be technically skillful. Our objective is to nurture more educated persons to meet the need of our society through studies for the purposes of application. Therefore, the college strives to generate creative innovation, competitive ability in application, and multi-skilled persons.

Various scholarships have been available for many years, such as The Wang Naichang Scholarship and The Vinburt Kramen Scholarship. The school also offers numerous part-time jobs as an opportunity for students in need to afford their daily living expenses. Different government scholarships and grants are helpful options for many students who excel academically and are economically challenged. In recent years, student loans from the government bear zero interest until a permanent job is secured after graduation, thus ensuring that students may complete their college education without delay.

The school implements an open-style philosophy, applying the international management concept to education management. Our founder, Dr. Wang Naichang is a pioneer who brings his successful experience in college education in Taiwan to China.

The school has built institutional relationships with universities around the world, such as the University of Pittsburgh in the United States, the Amori University in Japan, the Patten University in the U.S., and the Far East University in Taiwan. Most importantly, the establishment of institutional relationships among colleges in different nations not only facilitates academic exchanges but also helps to broaden the international perspectives of our students. In April 2002, the school signed a mutual agreement with the Kaya University of South Korea for the exchange of professors and students, which has benefited our students with the opportunity to study abroad.

A bachelor's degree can be awarded as soon as students complete the necessary undergraduate coursework. In order to meet the international education standard, the curriculum and the teaching material selected at our school are referenced from the international standards of similar schools. In the future, the school will be acquiring 300 acres of land for further expansion, and a new potential project has begun to build another campus by the ocean.
